Biesse at Ligna along with our Partners in Automaction, guiding the digital age.

At the LIGNA 2019 trade fair, Biesse is launching a partnership with four international brands recognised worldwide for their excellence in technology, innovation and digital competence.

Against the current technological backdrop, Biesse faces the challenge presented by the digital revolution, taking advantage of the benefits and opportunities this offers: courtesy of partnerships with Accenture, Microsoft, Bacci Automation and Elettric80 - Bema, the company is integrating its specific skills and knowledge with that of its new partners, placing the customer at the heart of everything and strengthening the value of the solutions it offers.

The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) presents a host of opportunities for business growth, through the implementation of new connected and integrated production processes. With a view to improving operational efficiency, ameliorating the customer care system and customer experience and reducing costs, Biesse has faced the new digital challenge head on. Indeed, since 2017, the company has been partnered with Accenture, and has developed SOPHIA, the IoT platform that can provide customers with a wide range of services to simplify and optimise the way in which they manage their work. By combining intelligent machine sensors with Accenture's IoT Connected Platform solutions, developed on the Microsoft Azure platform, SOPHIA enables information and data on the technologies in use to be sent in real time, optimising the performance and productivity of machines and systems. With SOPHIA, the paradigm has been reformulated: we are moving away from a reactive approach towards a proactive approach, with the aid of predictive analysis.

Biesse has also established a partnership with Elettric80 and BEMA, two companies that used innovative technologies and careful analysis of the logistics processes of their customers to anticipate the concept at the heart of Industry 4.0 more than twenty-five years ago: the intelligent, interconnected and digitised factory.
The tailor-made solutions offered by Elettric80 and BEMA enable all supply chain activities to be managed, allowing for significant increases in the efficiency of factories and total traceability of the products handled.
We have chosen to participate in the 2019 edition of the Ligna trade fair for the first time in collaboration with Biesse because we believe that the hardware and software expertise developed by our companies in different manufacturing sectors and could also prove strategic for the development of companies operating in the woodworking market. This sector is evolving rapidly, and taking an increasingly interested approach to Industry 4.0. The creation of the intelligent factory, where systems and processes are digitally integrated: something that Elettric80 and BEMA achieved more than twenty-five years ago, through automated logistics solutions that can ensure flexibility and efficiency over time for manufacturers of fast-moving consumer goods
Andrea Del Grosso Executive Vice President of Elettric80

Biesse has used its partnership with Elettric80 and BEMA as an opportunity to integrate state-of-the-art systems which can deliver the maximum efficiency and safety that today's automated industrial systems require into digital and interconnected factories.

The collaboration under the banner of Automaction is also coming to fruition as a result of Biesse's partnership with Bacci Automation, which serves to confirm and strengthen the relationship between man and robot, the common thread which runs through Biesse's presence at the Ligna trade fair. As a partner in the creation of integrated robotised systems, Bacci Automation offers robots designed to handle panels with a view to ensuring versatility and efficiency, facilitating the operator's work with the machine. These robotised solutions ensure a marked increase in production and total reliability of both the production process and the unloading operations, even in a wider context of industrial automation.

Along with Biesse, we've developed a number of automated solutions based on specific needs. The potential of robotised systems is such, however, that even now we can imagine a virtually endless range of applications and interactions
